The Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Guild is a volunteer run non-profit community of knitters.
In October 1986, a group of knitters gathered together to form the Guild. The love of knitting continues and new members are always welcome. We strive to:
- improve the skill and artistry of our craft
- increase the interest in, and knowledge of, knitting and related activities
- promote and celebrate our craft in the Kitchener-Waterloo area
You can download the K-W Knitters’ Guild’s constitution and by-laws in PDF format here.
Membership is open to knitters of all ages and skill levels. Our virtual monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (7-9pm) from September to May plus every other year we have an adjudicated show in June. We also host the KW Knitters’ Fair every year on the second Saturday in September. Meetings feature a guest speaker as well as Guild Announcements, member Show & Tell, What’s on your needles and our virtual Yarn Table. We end each meeting by spinning the wheel of member names for a fabulous door prize – and you have to be there to win;)
The Guild Constitution and Bylaws were updated in May 2023 to reflect that Member Meetings and Board meetings are held virtually. These changes were passed by a membership vote and reflected membership survey feedback.
The KWKG is a volunteer run organization with virtual board meetings held on the 1st Tuesday of the Month (7-9pm). Each year we plan content beyond the monthly meetings including Extras & Workshops dependent on member interest and volunteer availability. Currently, we have an in person knit & chat on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from September to May.
